AMBER WOOD
The grain of Amber Wood varies from striped to lightly speckled, making each grand piano a true decorative gem.
EAST INDIAN ROSEWOOD
Originating from South Asia, the East Indies, and Sri Lanka, this precious tobacco-coloured wood with thick veins stands out for its individual grain and a warm, deep lustre.
INDIAN APPLE TREE
Indian apple tree is an expressive wood from South America with a fascinating range of shades and dark stripes that make it an extraordinary feast for the eyes.
KEWAZINGA BUBINGA
Kewazinga Bubinga is a highly desirable wood from West Africa. Its unique, richly contrasting grain and soft, bright sheen give this piano a wonderful lightness and irresistible charm.
MACASSAR EBONY
This very rare precious wood from Sulawesi has a fascinating texture with a deep black colour and a reddish-brown that pulses with breathtaking power.
MAHOGANY POMMELE
This fine wood from Central America with unusual circular light reflections is charaterised by its charismatic texture and has a powerful and intense luminosity.

Again and again, the experts from Steinway & Sons set off on the thrilling search for extraordinary veneers, ensuring that new models can be created in strictly limited editions. They open up precious natural treasures – occasionally a whole tree trunk is needed to create just one grand piano, which can never be repeated.
